I had a list of things I wanted to see and do while in Paris. I’ve been a few times before so there weren’t too many touristy things that were high on my list. Not everything was completed, but one of my top priorities was to see the Eiffel Tower at sunrise. And it was worth every second of the experience.
We stayed at the Hotel Joyce, which was just a five minute walk to the Saint-Georges metro stop. Then, it was an easy twenty-eight minute metro ride through nineteen stations with only one transfer. It sounds like a lot, but it’s really quite an easy trip. As we were trying to get to the Eiffel Tower right at the start of sunrise, it was an early and dark morning.
This first photo was taken while still on the metro, almost to our destination. I didn’t want to pass up this gorgeous sky! All of these photos are completely unedited – they’re just how they came from my phone! Hard to believe that a phone took these, but my iPhone is seriously one of the best cameras I’ve ever used! You’ll see so many incredible colors in the sky throughout these photos. Yellows and oranges, blues and purples. The sky was changing so much in the short time we were there.
This was the first photo taken as we got off the Metro and rounded the corner. Enjoy the next series of sunrise photos all taken from Le Trocadéro, across the way from the Eiffel Tower.
Love Locks in Paris are very popular. But they’ve been removed from the famous Pont des Arts bridge, where they were most famously known. Now, you can find spots around the city where people have added new locks. This spot in the fencing on Le Trocadéro was full of locks, and if you look closely, you can see the base of the Eiffel Tower at the back.
Sunrise in Paris is just breathtaking.
More locks on the railing down to the river.
This is my favorite photo of the series. Probably my favorite photo of the trip. It’s just so beautiful!
One last bit of gorgeous light!
And here’s a photo from Google Earth with the route I took to get these photos. You can see we started over at the right at Le Trocadéro, walked down the stairs through the gardens, across the River Seine, and around the backside of the Eiffel Tower.
If you’re ever in Paris, make sure you take a visit to the Eiffel Tower at sunrise! You won’t regret it!
